Reward and Recognition Manager
Purpose of Job
To deliver the HR implementation plan for the Reward & Recognition function by:
- Providing proactive, professional support to the business
- Acting as a commercially aware, focused, business minded HR Partner
- Delivering a value added HR service to the business
- To support the Director Reward and Recognition in the development and implementation of compensation and benefit policies and strategies for TSE
- To participate with the Reward and Recognition team in setting the strategic direction for the function to ensure practices are in line with business needs and best in class.
Principle Accountabilities
- Deliver the design, management, implementation and communication of reward programmes including:
- Pay design and policy
- Long and short term incentive/bonus plans
- Recognition schemes with the aim of driving high performance levels and employee engagement
- Performance management and associated processes
- Benefits
- Lead the annual pay review and other cyclical functions
- Provide reward consultancy advice to leaders and managers in the business, as well as the wider HR team
- To collaborate with colleagues in the HR Team, including other centres of expertise to share practice, knowledge and expertise
- To keep fully aware of reward practices of direct and indirect competitors and market practice and share knowledge as appropriate
- Partner and support the Management Teams across the business by:
- Contributing to policy development for the Reward function
- Providing an escalation point for complex queries from One HR
- Driving continual process improvement by monitoring performance (cost, responsiveness, accuracy, timeliness) against agreed process performance targets
- Advise HRD/HRBPs on ad-hoc reward proposals and approvals within an approved governance framework
- Monitor and identify market trends to provide recommendations for improvements to our Reward and Recognition offering that are innovative, cost effective and in line with business objectives
- Keep up to date salary surveys and develop information networks to ensure that relevant data and comparators are always available.
- Deliver effective employee communications with support from internal communications team
- Own relationships with 3rd party suppliers to ensure quality of service and ROI
- To have a detailed understanding of Hay, and preferably other grading systems, pay banding and advise on the most appropriate model for the business
- To understand the value of Job Families and Career Pathing and understand how Reward policies can ensure their successful contribution to the organisation
Knowledge and Experience
- Extensive experience of reward, pay and benefits, including company pension schemes
- Experience of job evaluation processes
- Market salary surveys and job matching
- Benefits design and implementation
- Financial / numeracy skills
- Strong organisational skills
- Statistical data analysis primarily using Microsoft Office
- Be able to interpret and present data, tailored to audience
- Commercial thinker with strong business acumen.
- Computer literate – Microsoft Office & general systems knowledge (Excellent Excel skills).
