Role:             Quality Manager

Location:     Essex

Hours:          Full Time

Reports to:  Operations Director

Salary:         Competitive, based on experience

Benefits:      Health Insurance

Our client is looking for an experienced quality manager who is able to work across the whole quality remit from strategic conversations at board level to hands on operations in the processing room.

As a small family business operating for over 50 years in a regulated marketplace, this stand-alone Quality Manager needs to play an essential role in the next phase of organisational development, getting the whole business to place quality at the heart of operations.

The key deliverable for this role is to develop and maintain internal operating and processing systems to ensure that regulatory quality standards are met, systems are appropriately documented, the QMS is appropriately established and maintained and Quality Assurance keeps product quality at the safest levels.

Although this is a stand-alone position and the ideal candidate needs to be self-motivated, self-managing and self-sufficient, due to the nature of the organisation, the Quality Manager needs to be able to quickly establish their creditability based on their knowledge and experience; build strong working relationships with internal colleagues and external bodies; and exhibit high levels of commercial awareness, attention to detail and appreciation for clinical excellence.

Our client operates in the medical devices sector and therefore the ideal candidate will have a good understanding of the Medical Devices Regulations (MDR) and MEDDEV 2.7.1 Rev 4.

Educated to degree level in a relevant subject, our ideal candidate will have solid knowledge and experience in regulatory matters and / or quality management systems in the medical devices or a similar industry. Alternatively, we welcome applications from people who are qualified by experience.
