Annual Leave Toolkit
The annual leave toolkit has been developed to help those paying part year workers the correct amount of holiday pay.
All those on part year contracts need to be paid for 5.6 weeks of annual leave, regardless of how many weeks they work in the year (excluding starters and leavers).
The pay for the leave is calculated based on a 52 week rolling reference period. Weeks where there is no work are discounted and you can go back for up to 104 weeks until you have 52 weeks of pay to enable you to calculate average weekly pay.
DOHR have developed a toolkit to enable the accurate tracking of pay, leave and annual leave pay. Everytime an employee takes leave, the rate of pay must be recalcuated based on the new reference period.
