Following the changes to the Statutory Disciplinary and Grievance Procedures, mediation within the workplace is playing an increasingly important role.

Mediation has several benefits:

  • It is cost effective when compared to other proceedings
  • It enables settlements to be reached in much shorter time scales
  • It enables relationships to be left in tact or even rebuilt
  • Settlements may include outcomes which can not be ordered by courts or tribunals, such as a letter of apology

With courts and tribunals encouraging mediation before other proceedings, organisations and individuals should be considering mediation as a real alternative.

DOHR is now able to offer clients a fully independent mediation facility. We will engage with participants and work to find a settlement acceptable to all. We are able to offer not only workplace mediation, but community, family, small claims or other dispute resolutions.
