Hot off the Press!

We are absolutely over the moon to announce that Donna Obstfeld of DOHR has been voted one of the Top 100 Mums in Business in the Mums Club Business Mums Awards 2012. Short-listed in the ‘Expert in their Field’ category Donna, her husband and children are delighted with her progress in these National Awards. Donna recognises the art of balancing the requirements of her business with the needs of her family and loves the variety and challenge that both “work” and “play” produce.  There is a continual need to be highly organised and to keep juggling and re-prioritising – Donna says she wouldn’t want it any other way, she thoroughly enjoys being a busy, working Mum.

Pensions & Auto-Enrolment

New Pensions legislation comes into force from October 2012 following the Pension Commission’s review.  Currently, the state pension is £107 a week (figs as of April), the aim is to help combat the concerns surrounding poverty in the elderly. While they are able to opt out, all employees will be automatically enrolled in a pension put into place for them by their employer.   It is mandatory to offer a suitable pension scheme so employers will need to make the necessary adjustments (not just to payroll systems), it will also affect remuneration packages.

For further information on when you need to enrol (your staging date), how your business will be affected and employee eligibility (there are some non-eligible employees although everyone has the right to be included) please visit our website and download our information sheet.  We can help you with auto-enrolment, remuneration and other pension related issues, contact us at [email protected] or 01923 504100.
